to this window, with lights. Once they are well established, the domes
are removed. I can fit up to 17 trays in this window, under lights.

The single pumpkin plant has come over the fence, taken over
the yard and is heading out into the pasture.
I got 4 very nice pumpkins from it, and sent 6 green or
damaged pumpkins to the chickens.

Garden cleared except for kohlrabi, and mulching for winter started.
Cold frame into cabbage root cellar Nov. 2009

An experiment in storing cabbage over the winter. I took 2 2" x 3"
and screwed them length wise in the top if the cold frame. Then I
hung upside down cabbages still on stalks. I dusted them with DE
and then put a piece of plywood across the top, then the hay bales.
Not a success. First off, the bales froze together when they got wet.
So we could not open the top. Second, it was way too cold again this
year for this type of storage to work. So raising cabbage to store is scratched off the list.

I like how these flowers change colors over time. Behind it the bleeding heart is about 9" high.

This is the first year I've had the pink hellebore flowers. Clockwise from the right of the hellebore: fern, lesser celandine, (to right of celandine) Jacob's ladder, (under hellebore leaf) lady's mantle, leopard's bane, Newfoundland violets, red trillium, colt's foot, foxglove.
To the right of the lady's mantle, are 3 snowdrops, one with a colt's foot blossom in it.
