This bear was obviously just up from hibernation. It just sort of slowly moseyed around and took a lackadaisical look at the

Bryde the house cat had chased a chipmunk into this azalea
next to the back steps. She could not get into the shrub and the chipmunk perched there much like a bird for a long time.

We've seen this bobcat several times, always in this area. It's
sitting next to the shelter in the front pasture, about 100'
from the house.
We are outside, trying to catch Bryde the Brainless who wants
to stalk it. You can see it finds the whole thing amusing.

When this woodpecker showed up at the feeder, I had a hard time identifying him. The ruff over the beak threw me. But it's just the feathers ruffled from pounding the suet block.

This garden is mulched with heavy wet leaves of hay. But those robins are determined to find the worms and they turned over

It's 9 AM in the morning and this doe and fawns are not bothered about being in the pasture between the house and the barn. They are only 40' from the house.

This fawn appeared in the yard and Bryde stalked it all around
the house. There was no sign of it's mother.

Baby vulture June 2010

This baby vulture appeared one day. It could get itself up about
4-5' onto posts, but mostly it waddled around on foot. At one point we found it in the barn across from the chicken coop, perched on the stall wall.
We called the local raptor rehab person we knew but by the time
he got to the farm, the bird had disappeared. About an hour after he left, the baby vulture reappeared in the middle pasture.

We have an injured chicken living inside in front of the front door. She was making a racket one day and our son saw the owl in the tree at 11:30 on a snowy morning. He got this picture of it.

White nose syndrome has wiped out the little brown bat
population. We didn't know if our bat colony would return
this year.
But they are back and seem to be doing fine. We had hoped
to have them studied as Boston College had expressed interest
but so far no one has come out.
